THE CHALLENGE
A change of ownership created an immediate technical challenge. The building had existing LPR infrastructure across its levels - legacy equipment that needed to be replaced entirely. But the car park couldn't close. Parkers were coming and going every day, and the handover timeline left no room for a staged rollout or trial period.
The complexity didn't stop there. Chancery operates across multiple zones and nested zones, with different access rules and rate groups for different levels and parker types. Getting that configuration right - across nine floors, fifteen camera positions, and twelve gate controllers - while the building remained live was not a small task.

THE SOLUTION
Inugo handled the full implementation, completing the upgrade in three days.
Fifteen LPR cameras were installed across all levels - covering the rooftop, basement, and every internal floor. Twelve gate controllers manage every barrier across entry and exit points, with three intercoms giving parkers a direct support line when needed.
Four white-labelled ET1 kiosks are positioned throughout the building, giving transient visitors the flexibility to pay on foot before returning to their vehicle, or to pay on exit on the way out. Scan-to-pay is also available for visitors who prefer to pay on their phone. Either way, the barrier opens automatically on plate recognition - no ticket, no manual intervention.
Before a single camera was swapped, the full platform configuration was built in advance - every zone mapped, every access group defined, every rate and rule set up and ready. That preparation was what made the hard cutover possible. When the switch was flipped, the system was already configured for the full complexity of the building.
The cutover itself was a single coordinated move - old system off, new system live, with no overlap, no trial period, and no manual intervention to bridge the gap. Transient parking, pre-booked sessions, and permitted access holders were all live on the Inugo platform from the moment the building went over.
Everything runs through the Inugo Management Console - giving Imperium IQ real-time visibility across all nine levels from a single dashboard. Zone configuration, rate management, access group changes, and activity reporting are all handled centrally, without anyone needing to be on site.

THE RESULTS
Chancery Carpark went from legacy infrastructure to a fully modern, networked LPR system across nine levels in three days - without a single hour of downtime. For a building of this size and complexity, that outcome is rare. It required months of preparation, a platform capable of handling it, and a team willing to back themselves on the day.
For parkers, the transition is invisible in the best possible way. Ticketless entry, automatic gate recognition, and straightforward payment options make the day-to-day experience simpler than it was before. Monthly parkers and pre-booked visitors move through on the same system as transient parkers - no friction, no separate processes.
For Imperium IQ, operating one of Auckland's largest car parks from a single cloud platform changes what day-to-day management looks like. Rate changes, access updates, and reporting don't require a site visit or a third party. The team has full visibility across every level, in real time, from wherever they are.
"A nine-level car park, live the whole time, switched over in three days. That's not something we expected to be straightforward - but it was." - Rob, Imperium IQ
